Equipment and procurement FAQ

Practical answers for a pomegranate juice project

These answers connect common purchasing questions to the actual extraction, liquid-processing and packaging equipment. You can enquire about an individual machine without specifying an entire factory.

Browse by the starting material

Prepared arils enter the extraction section at the belt press. Existing juice can enter further downstream for selected clarification, concentration, thermal treatment and filling. Whole-fruit reception adds washing, inspection and a separate opening and aril-preparation operation before the juice section.

Questions about this equipment and process

Does the belt press open whole pomegranates and remove the peel?

The proposed extraction section receives prepared arils. Fruit opening and peel and membrane separation take place upstream. The belt press then performs juice extraction; it is not an opening or aril-separation machine.

Can the project include washing and inspection?

Yes. A fruit elevator, brush washer and manual inspection conveyor provide upstream equipment options. Their arrangement is matched to whole-fruit handling and the connection to the separate preparation operation.

Can one juice line make both cloudy and clear products?

The equipment and product routing can be configured for the required separation duties. Clear-juice filtration should not be assumed appropriate for a cloudy product. Switching requires the necessary connections, operating procedure and cleaning scope.

Do a disc clarifier, filter-aid filter and ultrafiltration unit all need to be installed?

No. They perform different separation tasks and are selected for the juice and finished-product target. Trials can compare product quality, useful operating duration, retained product and cleaning demand before a route is chosen.

How much juice will a tonne of whole fruit produce?

That requires measurements for the actual fruit and process. Accepted aril recovery, pressing, clarification and product remaining in the system all affect the final amount. A press result based on aril feed cannot be quoted as a whole-fruit recovery.

Can we add concentration to an existing juice plant?

Yes. The concentration section can begin at an existing juice supply. Feed buffering, any required clarification, evaporation and the downstream product route are connected to the plant’s actual juice and utility conditions.

What determines the size of the aseptic filler?

The product flow is one input. Bag volume and fitment, liquid condition, metering, bag-change time, container handling and the sterile connection also determine the appropriate configuration and working output.

Does aseptic filling alone determine shelf life?

No. Product preservation depends on the validated thermal process, sterile product path, package integrity and specified storage conditions together. The filling machine is one part of that system.

Can the same CIP programme clean every machine?

Cleaning circuits and programmes follow the equipment and its product-contact materials. Open preparation and press components require accessible physical cleaning, while membranes and other closed equipment have their own compatible conditions and verification methods.

What is needed for a first quotation discussion?

Send a short description of the machine or line you need and the incoming material. Approximate output, packaging and retained equipment are useful when known, but a detailed engineering specification is not required to begin.
