Remove selected suspended material

Disc-stack juice clarifier

A rotating disc-bowl assembly separates suspended material from the juice by centrifugal action. The clarifier is selected for the liquid after extraction and coarse material control, with a clarified outlet and a separate solids-removal duty.

Use the disc assembly to shorten the settling path

Within the rotating bowl, the disc arrangement provides closely spaced separation surfaces. Suspended material moves differently from the liquid according to its settling characteristics, while the clarified stream leaves through the selected outlet arrangement.

Feed temperature, viscosity, particle size and density differences all affect separation. For pomegranate juice, choose the clarification duty against the required product character rather than assuming the clearest possible sample is always the desired result.

Coordinate feeding with solids removal

Coarse seeds, peel pieces and preparation residues belong in the earlier separation route. Keeping that material out of the clarifier reduces an avoidable solids load and supports a more consistent liquid feed.

The selected bowl and discharge arrangement determine how separated solids leave the machine. Set the solids-handling sequence with the feed condition and the allowed product loss, and leave accessible space for the discharge connection.

Choose a separation route rather than adding every filter

Centrifugal clarification can serve a different duty from filter-aid polishing or membrane filtration. The incoming juice and the desired suspended-solids profile determine whether these are alternatives or whether a specific combination is useful.

For maintenance, follow the bowl service procedure and preserve access around the drive and housing. A control sequence must prevent access before the rotating assembly is safely stopped and isolated.

Questions about this equipment and process

Does clarification remove every dissolved component?

Centrifugal clarification separates material according to its settling behaviour. Dissolved components are not automatically removed along with the separated solids.
