Turn prepared feed into a juice stream

Belt press for prepared-aril juice extraction

Moving filter belts and a roller arrangement release juice from the prepared feed while carrying the retained material toward discharge. The pomegranate duty starts with accepted arils and a controlled feed, followed by separate collection of juice and wet residue.

Move an even layer through the pressing path

The feed is distributed onto the belt so that released liquid can drain while the material passes through the roller section. The belt support, drive and tensioning arrangement work together to keep that moving layer on its intended path.

For pomegranate, preparation controls what enters the press. Peel, membrane carryover, aril condition and feed consistency should be assessed before the pressing arrangement is fixed. The press performs liquid extraction; opening whole fruit is a separate stage.

Judge pressing by the juice as well as the extracted quantity

Pressure and the fruit fractions entering extraction can change the composition of the juice. Compare representative samples for the agreed colour, suspended material and sensory properties alongside the amount collected.

Examine the discharged material for the agreed seed-damage criterion and remaining liquid. A satisfactory operating point balances product quality, extraction and stable belt loading. The belt mechanism alone does not establish a seed-damage guarantee or a fixed fruit-to-juice recovery.

Include belt condition and cleaning in the acceptance run

Record aril feed, collected juice, wet residue and other streams over the same timed run. Use representative fruit preparation and operating conditions, and account for liquid remaining in the machine when assessing the balance.

The belts, rollers and collection surfaces need direct access for residue removal and inspection. Follow the machine procedure for tracking, tension and replacement. A CIP station serving downstream pipework does not replace this open-equipment cleaning work.

Questions about this equipment and process

Can the same recovery be used for whole fruit and prepared arils?

They are different input bases. Record the preparation rejects and accepted arils first, then measure extraction from those arils. Report the basis alongside any recovery result.
